Daily Snapshot: Casey

This is Casey, my lovable black lab/chow mix who likes long walks and breaking into the kitchen garbage bin. She can be messy, slobbery, and quite a mush. We aren't the type of family to include her in our Christmas cards, nor do I splash pictures of her all over my social media (though I am guilty of a few Instagram shots and Tweets) but we are completely in love with her. After years of begging and pleading, of Christmas lists with the one wish of a puppy, and a few trips to the animal shelters, we finally got her as a puppy at the end of the summer of 2006 to lift our spirits and bring a new bundle of energy into the house. She hasn't disappointed. It's a comfort to have her waiting at the door when I come home, it's laughable how she still get so excited every time we get the leash to take her out for a walk, and though she obviously can't speak she has her own distinct personality. She's smart, she's slick, energetic, and completely devoted and adoring. One pet and she melts to the floor and begs for a belly rub. It's not her birthday, nor the anniversary that we got her (that would be August 9th) but I just think that this dumb dog deserves some love on the internet.
