Christmas Tree Chopping

Every year, per tradition, my family and I go to Shelton, CT and browse for Christmas trees. Usually my father or brother chop the tree down, but this year I stood up to the challenge and got on the floor myself to cut it down. It was challenging and my forearms were red from the pinching needles, but it was a great accomplishment when it finally fell. We finished the day at the Christmas market, looking at handmade ornaments, sitting by the fire pit and enjoying oatmeal raisin cookies and hot apple cider. I have a feeling my twenty-third Christmas might be the best one yet.
