Bear Mountain State Park

This past Sunday, we went to Bear Mountain and hiked the moderate trail called Doodletown. We wanted an activity where we could get outside and get some exercise and thought that an afternoon hike was the perfect way to do just that. The actual park was a little disorganized - there wasn't a visitors center to get information on the trails, no direct signs to tell you where trails begin and how hard they were, and not that many workers around to ask questions. The trail that we did was nice enough - easy, had some hills to climb, and we saw some wildlife, however there weren't any views of the water and we didn't get very high. We might go back again in the next few weekends, to do a more advanced hike with nicer views, but for a spontaneous activity, we had a great time.
